• Fresh entryway 🌿 This space had been empty and neglected since moving in, but being stuck at home prompted us to give it some love in the form of paint and a few new bits and bobs. Who else is doing lots of DIY projects at the moment?
We went with a cooler-toned white to brighten up the space, instead adding warmth through the bench and various textures.
Let me know what you think! Hope you’re doing well and staying safe x
  • Was out in the garden minding my business and noticed this tree flowering. I’m not sure what it is but isn’t she lovely?
  • These furry friends are keeping me calm(er) at the moment, so I thought I’d share these cute faces in case they help you too.
It’s a scary time. And you might very well be feeling anxious and scared. You’re not alone, even if we are all practising social distancing.
Some things I’m doing to keep busy at home: gardening, cleaning and decluttering and rearranging, watching lighthearted shows, pottery, reading when my brain allows, staying in touch with loved ones.
What’s keeping you busy at home? Any good TV show recommendations?
  • Painting the brick wall in the bedroom 〰️ swipe for the before. What do ya think?
• We were a bit nervous about doing this as painting isn’t exactly reversible, but we really weren’t feeling the original brick finish and the room just felt dark and dingy. I’m so happy we went ahead as it has completely transformed the room.
• I’ve shared the process in my Story. I’ll be honest, we thought it would be a quick job. Hoo boy. Turns out painting raked brickwork is a very time-consuming process and stippling for hours upon hours with a brush (rolling didn’t work) is not fun. • But the change has been 🙌 The first morning after, I woke up and it felt like I was in actual heaven. The sun was shining in and bouncing around the room. It‘s fresh, airy and brings out the lush greenery outside 🌿
  • On the weekend I did a vase #upcycle project 〰️ swipe for the before!
• I saw the tutorial by @genevavanderzeil and knew these sad vases I bought from the tip shop on the weekend needed some #trashtoterracotta love. • I think my fave is the yellow vase? Let me know yours 💛
  • Hopefully the first of many before and afters 👉🏼
We’re brimming with DIY and renovation ideas for this new home of ours, but first it’s planning (and saving $) time.
Like the brick wall and ceiling — would you leave as is or paint one (or both) white? 🤔
I’ll be sharing more of the process on stories so come join, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
  • If I could bottle up that feeling you get when you get out of your bubble and find yourself in a new, tranquil place, I would. Where’s your go-to happy place?
  • When my mind starts playing tricks on me and I feel like I’m quite literally dying (thank you Anxiety for this gift, so generous of you), I try to do at least one of these things:
🌊 Go to water (the beach, shower, bath, anything, even watering the garden helps)
🛌 Burrow into bed and read or watch a show (decidedly not Handmaid’s Tale at this time, nothankyou) and cuddle my cats
🏃🏻‍♀️ Exercise (I know I know, but it works)
💬 Talk. Tell someone I’m feeling anxious, and hear out loud the things that my panic is trying to convince me to believe.
But sometimes these don’t help. And I just sit with it and hope it will pass soon. I’ve become more comfortable with this sitting, mainly because often I don’t have a choice. But also because the older I get the more I realise it’s going to be ok. And I’m not alone in this. And neither are you.
〰️ If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear the ways you help yourself when you’re feeling anxious #anxiety #mentalhealthawareness
  • Sometimes you just need a little bit of sunshine in print form. Hope you all have a sunny weekend ahead 🌻
  • A camouflage Fin keeping me company while I hang out the washing 🍂
  • I can practically smell the sea spray 🌞
This is from the summer just past in Sydney, not long before we packed up and moved back north.
There’s something romantic about film, probably the way it hauls you back to a moment months, even a year, ago when that finished roll of film is finally developed. Like nostalgia concentrated and memory cemented. Does that even make sense?
  • Apparently you can train cats to sit, lie down and shake hands... anyone had any luck? 🤭
